This album was recorded on the historic day of November 7th 2020, when the world awoke to the confirmation that Donald J Trump had indeed met defeat in the 2020 US Presidential Election. As the nation erupted in emotional celebration, Ben Bennett and Arrington de Dionyso gathered their forces together to create this sonic ritual, an exorcism for the soul of a land plagued with a deep and painful history of violence and oppression.
We offer these sounds as a cleansing smoke.

"Artist and multi-instrumentalist, Arrington de Dionyso has spent his life developing this magical relationship to sound and image, which is palpable in his vast discography and visionary paintings. On a similar path, Ben Bennett, who has intuitively mastered the percussion of both musical tradition and his changing environment, is notorious for his unflappable meditation smile. These two brought their musical wills together on November 7, 2020, the day Donald Trump officially lost his second bid for presidential election. Ceremonializing this symbolic moment, Bennett and Dionyso came together on that day to perform a live musical exorcism: a creative pause to acknowledge the departure of bad spirits and to cleanse of our collective space. I remember listening to this on the day it was first released as a free digital download. Ben Bennett plays a unique array of floor percussion including frame drums, gongs, and assorted objects.
